Children's Team

Parent Information (Frequently Asked Questions)

To refer to other children’s services within Valley Mental Health (i.e. ARTEC, CBTU, etc.), one must work with the Tooele Children’s Unit for a referral.

Children’s Groups

Valley Mental Health Tooele Unit Children’s Team offers a variety of groups to address issues that children experience, and need assistance with.  For a referral to one of the groups, please make an appointment for an assessment with the children’s team, following which the team will determine if one of the groups will benefit the child.

Groups Description
Why Try Oppositional and conduct disordered males - ages 13 - 18
Safety Club Children up to age 12 who have witnessed domestic violence
Sexual Abuse Group Children up to 5th grade who are perpetrators of sexual abuse
Decent Dude Social skills for children who are developmentally delayed or mentally challenged.
Bully Group Junior high aged males whose self-esteem suffers from bullies at school - assertiveness training.
Survivor Group Elementary age females who are survivors of sexual abuse.
Progression Group Junior and senior high school aged females who struggle with depression and anxiety.
TALK Big The angry little kids group - elementary aged children who struggle with anger outbursts and raging.
TALK Little  Pre-school aged children who are raging and tantruming.
